David King Joins Event-Photos

A look at the King family album shows a strange occurrence when David reached his early teens. Before then, as the youngest member of the family, he was the centre of attention and featured in the majority of the photographs then, suddenly, he almost totally vanishes... Was he kidnapped? abducted by aliens? or did he run away and join the circus? Although the circus definitely crossed his mind, the actual answer can be discovered by studying the occasional picture he does appear in. For in these photographs there is frequently a camera in his hand. It was around this age that David's interest in photography was born when his father gave him his first camera, an Ilford instamatic, and he switched from being in front of the camera to taking over as the "official family photographer". The next two generations of the King family, and anyone else who came into range of his viewfinder, had to endure David pointing his camera at them and snapping away, recording the moment for posterity.

Over the years David has become fascinated by the way a photograph could tell an entire story by capturing an instant that only lasted a fraction of a second. He has developed a sixth sense for capturing that "decisive moment" and it is this combined with his easy-going manner that makes him an ideal Event Photographer.

As well as Event Photography, David is also an accomplished landscape photographer, his landscapes and seascapes have been sold international and he has also had his work displayed in a London gallery.
